North Island wild places…

Onemana Dawn

I took this image on a cool spring morning at the northern end of Onemana Beach on the Coromandel Peninsula, just as the sun first peeped over the horizon. I deliberately used a long exposure to blur the waves, matching them to the smooth gradations in the clear, early morning sky. I took several images as the sun gradually appeared above the horizon, after which the dreamy magic of the scene gradually faded.
